Holiday Workshops

2 dates to choose from: Nov. 14, 6pm and Dec. 8, 11am

This is a make and take class. We use fresh holiday greens with a variety to choose from. Many container choices, and bow color choices. We also have fun decorations to add to your centerpiece. Centerpiece size finished will be around 12 wide 14 inches high.

Ages: 21+ Join us for a fun evening out and leave with a little more knowledge of wine AND watercolor! You can create a colorful holiday design or paint anything you wish. Instructor: Abigail Powers

In this class, you will learn how to make beautiful and unique blown glass ornaments using Glaskolben pre-blown clear glass cylinders. Glaskolben are the perfect way to get into blown glass without having to learn how to pull points from glass tubes.

You will begin by learning about the different types of glass used in blown glassmaking, the tools and equipment needed, and the basic safety precautions. Then, you will learn how to heat the Glaskolben in the flame of a torch to soften the glass. Once the glass is soft, you will learn how to blow into the Glaskolben to expand it and create different shapes.

You will also learn how to add decorative elements to your ornaments, such as frit and stringers.

This class is perfect for beginners and experienced glassmakers alike. All materials and equipment will be provided. $159

November 25, 6:30 - 8:30 PM

You will create a needle felted Christmas ornament. You will be using a metal/plastic cookie cutter for the form of the ornament , wool fleece and a special needle to lock the fibers together. By the time you are done you will have created a beautiful Christmas ornament. Ages 13-Adult. All materials included. No experience needed.

December 1st, 9am-2pm

December 1st, 12pm

Make 2 fused glass ornaments that will be ready for pick up approx. 1 week later. You can choose to make Christmas ornaments or anything you wish (flowers, abstract, etc). No experience necessary. Under age 16 should be accompanied by adult.

December 15th or 19th, 6:30pm

You will learn the basics in cookie decorating. This class comes with all supplies. You will make 1 Santa, 1 Mrs. Claus, 1 Rudolph, 1 Chocolate Chip Cookie, 1 Carrot, 1 Glass of Milk. Family Friendly - under age 12 should be accompanied by paid adult. Instructor: Rebecca Schroeder, That Bakery LLC

November 22nd, 7pm $65

Have some fun with the Michigan Blooms gals and get creative with pressed flowers!  This special holiday workshop includes 2 art pieces to create to give as gifts or to keep for yourself - one 8x10.5" piece and another ornament-sized piece. Their array of Michigan-grown pressed flowers will inspire you as you turn flowers into art and create something truly unique.  Workshop includes guided instruction to make your own design, a hanging glass frame, an ornament frame, a colorful array of pressed flowers to choose from, supplies to use, and a Michigan Blooms apron.  1.5 to 2 hour class.

Michigan is known for it's beautiful lakes and large sandy dunes. Beach glass is created when turbulent waves combine with course sand to create a natural rock tumbling effect. The resulting product is a mixture of wonderfully polished glass - a treasure that we will be utilizing to create our beautiful Christmas trees!

$65 includes step by step instructions, a wide variety of beautiful glass, and all other supplies. Finished project measures approximately 9 inches tall. Mini starfish and lights included! Choose from 3 beautiful colors: Turquoise, Lighthouse Red, or Deep Green.

Each participant will be given their own personalized kit when they arrive, which includes step by step instructions and all necessary supplies. The project is self guided, so you are able to go at your own pace while also talking with friends. No live instruction.
