Painting & Drawing with Rusty Frentner
Fridays from 10:30am-12:30pm
The objective of this class is to learn how to draw and paint animals and nature realistically. Each 4 week session, we will focus on a different animal group. You may also bring photos of your own as inspiration. This is a perfect class for Plein Air painters to brush up on their skills over the winter months!
Materials List:
Easel (if you want to use one)
Palette or palette paper
Canvas, canvas board or panel
Brushes and palette knife
Gamsol or odorless thinner
Paper towels or rags

Come Paint with Steff Spackman
Mondays, 4:30-6:30pm - 4 or 8 week sessions or DROP-IN ($30 per week)
Mondays, 4:30-6:30pm. Ongoing class, you can register for drop-in at any time (or if the session has already started) or try an 8-week session at a reduced rate. Continue from a watercolor or acrylics class you've taken or improve upon a breadth of watercolor skills. You'll fine-tune your skills and learn great tips in color mixing, color choices, creating depth in painting, accurate drawing/perspective, creating textures, painting reflections and much more. Basic painting experience required. Instructor: Stephanie Spackman. Drop-In is $30 per week, if you aren't able to commit for the whole session.

Paint with a Date
Thursday, Feb. 6 6 - 8 PM
Invite your favorite person—whether it's a partner, a bestie, or a fellow art enthusiast—and join us for an unforgettable evening of wine, beer, and watercolor! Sip and sample a flight of wine or beer while you unleash your creativity. You can create a piece based on examples and instructions or paint anything you wish. Each ticket comes with either a beer or wine flight to sample while painting. Instructor: Abigail Powers $50 per person (make sure to register for each person attending)

Painting with Pastels with Kathy Fish
Wednesdays, 2:30-4:30pm
This is an ongoing adult class that meets every week and offers a crossover between drawing and painting. We will explore different methods and tools that are used with pastels to take one from starting out with a sketch to establishing values, to working with color. Going with techniques from blending to cross-hatching and onto layering, it will bring you to your finished art pieces ready to be matted and framed. Bring your own materials. Scrap-a-Thon
January 11th 9am-9pm
Join us for a day of cropping and creativity! Cost includes ample cropping space, 1 lunch meal ticket (provided by River's Edge Brewing Co.) and a relaxing day to crop with your friends! Melissa Burch, Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator will be on-site with a make & take and giveaways! Bring your own beverages and a food item to share! Snack sign-up will be sent to participants closer to the event. ONLY 20 spots available!

Love is in the Air Fused Glass Heart Workshop
January 16th, 6:00pm
Love is in the Air Glass Heart Workshop.
Join us for this lovely heart workshop. Choose from making a nightlight or suncatcher.
This class requires simple cutting and is easy enough for a beginner. All materials are provided and will be assembled in class and taken home with the instructor to be kiln fired.
Projects can be picked up from the center in about 10 days and an email will be sent out to all participants with pickup instructions. Space is limited.

Upcycled Fused Glass Garden Owl
April 27th, 10:00am
Please join us in the Spring to create this super cute Garden Owl Yard Art!
All materials will be provided to make your own upcycled garden owl out of glass. Glass plates are approx. 10- 11" tall and 6" wide and you will have a variety of glass gem color combinations to create with. Display in your garden on a metal stake that you can find at any hardware store (but not necessary to bring to class with you) An attachment on the reverse side of your owl will allow you to insert onto the metal stake.
Instructor Laurie, with Kiss My Glass, will show you step-by-step how to assemble during this instructional course. Your project will be made using an outdoor-safe adhesive and will be a take home craft. Please be sure to bring a box and some packaging with you per instructions below.
This class is appropriate for ages 16+ (10+ ok when accompanied by a paid adult).
Important Information:
PLEASE BRING A BOX (approx. 12" x 15" wide x 5" deep), AND SEVERAL "PACKAGING PAPER/NEWSPAPER" TO PROP UP YOUR PROJECT INSIDE THE BOX so you can take it home safely to dry/set. PLEASE KEEP THESE ITEMS IN YOUR CAR UNTIL THE END OF THE CLASS.

Beach Glass Crafting Party - Take Home Kit
Join the craze and create your own custom beach glass window! This is a self-led activity that comes with complete instructions enclosed that you can take home and create at your convenience. Kit must be picked up at The Suzanne Haskew Arts Center (125 S. Main St, Milford).

Beginning Drawing

Learn beginner drawing techniques - 5 week course. This class is for anyone looking to learn how to draw or to improve their drawing skills. We will start with how to layout a drawing and how to incorporate shapes within the objects we look at everyday. We will then continue with how to add value, texture and perspective. We will end by learning how to draw using color! Instructor: Stephanie Spackman

River's Edge Brewing Co. is attached to the art center, make it a night by grabbing dinner before or after class. You're also welcome to bring a drink over during class time.

Oil Painting Plein Air Style
Fridays 10am-12pm Spring-Fall
Beginning mid April. Head outside on Friday mornings with our experienced Plein Air Instructors, 10:00am-12:00pm. Everyone should be prepared for the elements, as class will be outside weather permitting (meet at the SHAC at 10am and then proceed on to location).
You must bring your own materials:
Easel and setup for outdoor painting, Palette or palette paper, Canvas, canvas board or panel, Brushes and palette knife, Gamsol or odorless thinner, Paper towels or rags, Oil paint: titanium white, cadmium yellow, cadmium red, ultramarine blue Optional colors: yellow ochre, alizarin crimson, purple, veridian, transparent red iron oxide

Cake & Cookie Decorating
Cake Decorating: each student will get a 5” cake (choose chocolate or vanilla), buttercream frosting, piping bags & tips and learn how to set up & level a cake, crumb coat & some basic decorating techniques to create a cute fun themed cake.
Cookie Decorating: each student will receive 6 cookies, bags of icing and all the tools to create fun themed cookies. *Note: the adult classes come with a drink ticket to be redeemed at River’s Edge Brewing Co. on the night of class.
